Occupational Health & Safety Policy

GM Microtunnelling is committed to protecting the health and safety of all employees while they are at work. GM Microtunnelling had developed a health and safety management system that is integrated with all organisational activities. All employees have a responsibility to work safely, to take reasonable care for their own health and safety, and to consider the health and safety of other people that may be affected by their actions.

GM Microtunnelling will take all reasonable and practical steps to improve work safety conditions and will strive to achieve a goal of zero harm. GM Microtunnelling is committed to:

  • Complying with all applicable health and safety laws, regulations and standards.

  • Providing safe plant and equipment, for controlled work.

  • Implementing risk management systems which are; relevant and suitable for the organisations risk exposure as well as identify, promote and continuously improve health and safety performance.

  • Provide health and safety training to all employees.

  • stablishing clear targets and objectives on an annual basis to improve health and safety in the workplace.

  • Encouraging active participation and co-operation of all employees and contractors in promoting and developing measures to improve health and safety at work.

  • Actively responding to and investigating all incidents and ensuring injured employees are returned to suitable work at the earliest possible opportunity.

GM Microtunnelling will implement and maintain these systems, inclusive of standards, policies and procedures. These standards will be monitored regularly to ensure their integrity and effectiveness.

 

Environmental Policy

GM Microtunnelling is committed to protecting the environment and will take all reasonable and practical steps to minimise environmental harm within our workplace.

  • GM Microtunnelling acknowledges the benefits of environmental management and undertakes to fulfil its legal and community duty, by taking all reasonable and practical measures to prevent or minimise harm to the environment. All employees, contractors and visitors are directed to act likewise by exercising due diligence toward the environment in all their activities.

  • GM Microtunnelling seeks to ensure that proper consideration is given to the care of the flora, fauna, air, land, water and the community, which may be affected by our activities.

  • GM Microtunnelling also undertakes to notify the relevant authority in the event of a major environmental impact that causes harm, or has the potential to cause harm, to the environment.

​To fulfil this commitment, GM Microtunnelling will observe all environment laws and promote environmental awareness among all staff to increase understanding of environmental matters.
